What it is
A desktop music organiser for the Mac, built in Python with PyQt6. New tracks land in one inbox folder; the app lists them, plays them, and lets you file each one into the right folder of your library.
What I did
The window has two tabs, Organize and Prep. On the left, the incoming MP3 and WAV files; in the middle, playback with a waveform you can click to seek, and the track's embedded album art; on the right, the library's folder tree. Move a track with a button, or drag it across.
Each track is analysed in the background for tempo and musical key with the Essentia audio library, and the result is cached in a small SQLite database keyed by an audio fingerprint, so a track is only analysed once. Every list can be sorted alphabetically, by BPM or by Camelot key, up or down. Multi-select, batch moves and undo/redo came later, along with a dockable launcher and a custom icon.
What came out of it
A working app, packaged as a standalone macOS application with PyInstaller. Screenshots coming soon.
What I'd try next
The original notes list tagging, rename templates and smart bins as the next features.
